Interactive Trailer Lets You (Almost) Play Orcs Must Die

By Dr. Eleanor Vance | Published on January 01, 0001

Y’know, for a yono business medium where interactivity is king, 99.9% of game trailers get it wrong, by simply not offering anything to do. Sure, all the chanting, shiny CG and ominious voiceover is okay for setting mood but that stuff tells you nothing about the actual play experience of a game.(new Image()).src = 'https://capi.connatix.com/tr/si?token=995c4c7d-194f-4077-b0a0-7ad466eb737c&cid=872d12ce-453b-4870-845f-955919887e1b'; cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "995c4c7d-194f-4077-b0a0-7ad466eb737c" }).render("79703296e5134c75a2db6e1b64762017"); }); https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSfvuHVPnqw Robot Entertainment’s new teaser for its XBLA release Orcs Must Die does exactly that. Now, the YouTube video doesn’t give control rummy meet of the game’s medieval War Mage character in a 3D environment. But it does offer you the choice of in-game units, with each click taking you to another video where you get to see the Crossbow & Bladestaff, Archer Guardians and Spring Traps in action. (Note that you’ll need to have Annotations turned on in YouTube for the gimmick to work.) By the yono business time you click through every one of the joy rummy videos, you’ll get a good sense of how the hybrid of 3rd-person action and rummy meet tower defense—also recently seen in Section 8: Prejudice and Gears of War 3‘s Horde 2.0—looks like in Orcs Must Die!. I, for one, will admit that this series of clips made me go from ignoring the game to wanting to check it out. Did I mention that Orcs Must Die! is out today on Xbox Live Arcade? See, interactivity works. Choose Your Own Adventure [Robot Entertainment] You can contact Evan Narcisse, the author of this post, at [email protected]. You can also find him on Twitter, Facebook, and lurking joy rummy around our #tips page.

I appreciate the themed slot games, especially those based on movies and TV shows. They make the gaming experience more engaging and immersive. The combination of storyline, visuals, and bonus features makes each game feel unique. The progressive jackpots are thrilling, and it's exciting to watch the jackpot amounts grow as more players spin the reels. I hope they add even more jackpot slots because it adds a lot of excitement to the gameplay.
